Chapter 1597 Astral Glitter

Author: Five Generals
After much thought, Kaze gave Draco a call. “How are Sven and Wolf doing?”

Draco replied, “They have passed all physical tests. The lab reports their progress live.”

“Alright. Send them back in the next few days to protect Darcy. Make sure they are equipped with the license to kill.

“Tell them to kill anyone who tries to harm Darcy,” Kaze said curtly.

He was not worried about himself, but Darcy could be a target.

Conan’s henchmen were no match for an organization like the Viper’s Den.

The next day, Kaze went to the mayor’s office.

Conan was waiting outside Skylar View District.

Standing next to him was Astral whose head was bruised and patched up. Conan would give him annoyed looks from time to time.

“Why are you here?”

Kaze drew close and looked at Astral.

Astral hunched over and said, “I heard Sirius had flown to Lilyrose. I thought I would come by in case he tries something with you. I am set to succeed the family. Even if he hates me, he should take my o

Kaze would not be good enough to serve under the Viper’s Den with broken limbs, and no one would cross Morris for Kaze. Morris had put together a plan. However, he did not account for Kaze’s brazenness in ignoring him. Kaze even enjoyed a round of golf and indulged in the food meant for Morris, as if Kaze were a guest of Morris. “Why did you come to Westeros? What are you after?” Morris asked, considering Kaze would likely hold his tongue and enjoy the perks that were not his until Morris broke the silence. Kaze was enjoying the grapes when Morris turned to look at him solemnly. The man did not even put the golf club down, as if he were ready to fight. Seeing Morris's stance, Kaze got the message. Morris did not want to hear his excuses; he just had to ask out of obligation. Morris was such a pretentious old man. Despite his age, he clung to the Viper’s Den because of greed. People like Morris did not interest Kaze. Still, Kaze had to give it to Morris for his experience an

“When can we go?” Clarice could not wait. Observing her acting rather out of character, Edmund said, “I know how you feel about him, but you’re different now. You’re always blasé about everything. Since when do you get anxious?” He grew curious about the progress of Clarice’s relationship with Kaze. “Which doctor saw you last night?” Edmund was worried that Clarice and Kaze would go straight to become partners in bed. Sure, intimacy was common nowadays. However, Edmund did not wish for his niece to be in a vulnerable position. “Kaze got the doctor. He said the in-house doctor from the branch.” Clarice blushed shyly. “Kaze is a great guy. He didn’t take advantage of me. He always put me first. He sought vengeance for me.” Clarice was thrilled. Though fear gripped Clarice when looking back at the horrifying experience, Kaze’s presence soothed her. Edmund was shocked to see Kaze’s integrity shining through. He understood that Kaze meant a lot to Clarice, seeing that she had

“You’ve heard my plan, and I understand what you’re saying, but Kaze will be fine.” Though Edmund had made up his mind to confront the Siegfrieds, he had to remain discreet. By staying under the radar, Edmund would put them in a better position to attack. There had to be a trigger for a full-blown war. Since Clemont tried to harm his niece, Edmund could retaliate by messing with the Siegfrieds’ business. However, Edmund would have fingers pointed at him if he took things too far, and he would lose his edge. He knew what his next move should be. Clarice lost her cool, eager to save Kaze. However, her feelings were true. In fact, Edmund was glad that Kaze meant something to Clarice. The girl had been rebellious over the years, her interests short-lived. Clarice looked at Edmund nervously, her eyes reflecting confusion. “But you’re only out to get the Siegfrieds by plummeting their share prices. This won’t change Mr. Siegfried’s decision to take his anger out on Kaze.” See

It was the last thing Edmund expected. He even mocked the Siegfrieds for their poor family values, having raised a child like Clemont. However, as it turned out, Clarice was part of the story. Clemont had been trying to set up Edmund’s niece all along. Without Kaze’s witty help, Clarice would have been in a terrible situation last night. Even if Edmund assigned the Viper’s Den security detail to Clarice, they might not be able to keep Clarice safe. Edmund was relieved to have hired Kaze. It was a wise decision. “Say something, Uncle Edmund. I just need you to say the word. You’re in or out? These people are pushing too far.” Clarice was going to drop the whole thing. However, now that Morris was out to get Kaze, Clarice could not sit by and do nothing. She had to light a fire under her uncle’s ass. Edmund, on the other hand, was hesitant. Kaze belonged to the Butterworth branch, so there was no telling who he was working for. In fact, it was unclear whether Kaze would be of u

“I’ll be fine. Don’t worry.” Kaze was one second away from closing the car door when Clarice held it open, refusing to let it shut in case she might never see Kaze again.Miles stood near a black sedan, not too far away, with a cigarette in hand. He narrowed his eyes at the pair. Kaze and Clarice looked like lovers saying their final goodbyes, and Miles appeared to be the biggest villain for separating the lovers. It was funny. However, Miles did not forget his duties. Kaze was not going anywhere with Clarice. Even if Kaze jumped into Clarice’s car, he would not be able to get away and escape a meeting with Morris. Kaze had done it this time. Typically, Morris would not waste his time with a nobody. At present, Kaze pat Clarice on the head, settling her down. “I’ll be back soon enough. Keep it together.”“Mr. Siegfried will do everything to hurt you. If anything happens, please hang in there while I get Uncle Edmund to save you.” Clarice was reluctant to walk away, but

Clarice found great support in Edmund since her father was not the most reliable person. However, her father had the power to decide who Clarice would have to marry. That was the dynamic of Clarice’s relationship with her father. Though things were complicated, they held leverage over each other. Despite picking up on the intimidation in Miles’ tone, Kaze played dumb. At times, hostility was not necessary in the pursuit of revenge. The point was to hurt the enemy when the moment was right. It was best not to express any animosity before the attack, as the enemy would become ready to avoid any direct hits. Understanding those principles, Kaze behaved normally. “I understand. If you’re not in a hurry, can you wait outside?” Kaze said tenderly and gave them a time. “We can do that. We’ll wait for you in the lobby. There are no other exits, so don’t keep us waiting too long,” Miles uttered. Miles and his crew had checked for escape routes to ensure Kaze would not get away.

Clarice realized that, unless she stood on her own, nothing felt secure. She felt apprehensive when faced with the same situation. “There has to be a way. I can’t put everything on you,” Clarice uttered uneasily as if trying to prove her worth. Kaze grinned and cleared his plate, saying, “Enjoy the milk while it’s hot. You can take the medicine after breakfast.” “Why do you bother? The cleaner can do it.” Clarice wanted to help, but as she had never done house chores before, she did not know where to start. “There’s a dishwasher in the kitchen. I’ll just put the dirty plates there.” With that, Kaze put the plates and glasses in the dishwasher before cleaning the dining table. “Get ready. You can call the driver to pick you up once you’re all set.” Kaze stood firm on getting rid of Clarice. “Why are you troubled about this? Can’t I just stay?” Clarice was upset. She wanted to remain in Kaze’s company and not leave so soon. “Be a good girl and go home.” It was rathe

“Did you make breakfast?” Clarice was in disbelief. Was there anything Kaze could not do?“I picked up cooking growing up. I’d be stuck eating terrible food unless I cooked.” Kaze was amused by Clarice’s shock. The girl came from privilege. Though she did not have a great childhood, his uncle cared for her well. Of course, she would not understand why Kaze could cook. “But you’re great at fighting and everything else. I didn’t think cooking would be one of many skills.” Clarice knew a lot of people, but only a few could cook. Most wealthy families would not encourage the men to cook. Besides, her friends were well-educated and well-mannered, but none of them paused to take up cooking. That was why Clarice was surprised by Kaze’s cooking. “Here. Try the food.’ Kaze, thinking nothing of the matter, placed a plate of omelet in front of Clarice. “You caught a cold last night. You need to have breakfast and take your pills to get better,” Kaze said. He had arranged for th

Morris knew his son would stay put for now. At least, there would not be any accidents for a while. After all, Clemont could not leave his room. When Morris went back to investigate the scene, he discovered that Clemont was out to get Clarice, and Kaze was somehow involved, too. Morris put down the file and looked at his subordinates. He watched footage of Kaze retaliating against Clemont upon learning that Clarice had been drugged. Morris could not stand for that. It was his duty as a father to put Clemont on the right path. Kaze had no right to discipline his child. Kaze was just an insignificant member of the Butterworth branch. He had some nerve to get physical with Clemont, and Morris would not put up with that. “The audacity. The guy from Butterworth hurt my child.” Morris turned to his crew and asked, “Why didn’t you tell me sooner? Clemont might be a dick, but he’s my son. I should be the one to stop his nonsense. These people have gone too far.” Morris’s rage grew
